Questions you want answered . . .
This might be a good point to check in and see if you all can offer up any advice on your virtual worlds, or find answers to questions bugging you about your experiences so far. You may use this post to ask questions to classmates about their virtual worlds or find out "how to" in the online spaces.

Through my experience on Meez I have found that most of the users are young and teen aged. I call them "teeny boppers." I guess that could be considered a stereotype, huh? My advice for using Meez is to act like a teen. Use language that they would use and create your avatar similar to theirs to get them to interact better with you. Also, since most of the members are teens they're probably at school during daytime hours so usually there are very few people on during the day. For the best interactions log on at night!
ReplyDeleteI have had the same experience! I am on Barbie world, and since its for school age kids not much is happening during the day. The peek hours I have found are from 3 to 6 and then after 8 until 10ish. And also Saturday and Sunday mornings. I am having such a hard time thinking of what to write about for my 5th journal. I have actually lucked out and had great experiences while logged on so I have copias amounts to write about on the assigned topics.
ReplyDeleteI am having one major issue, so if anyone on Barbie could answer it that'd be great. Sometimes I am having trouble viewing my avatar when I am in certain areas. The commons you find yourself in after logging on isn't a problem. But when I have ventured into a cafe, and even a few girls room I can't find myself. I am wanting to print a screen shot of me hanging with the other girls. I am able to chat with them, and they said they can see me. But I can't see myself? The "help" option says to click a spot anywhere on the floor and thats where your Barbie will go. Help anyone? Thanks!
I'm in Barbie world too and I haven't had that problem! I was having a hard time with the Bchat though. Still cant really get it to work. I go into places and try to talk but everyone just ignores me? ha
ReplyDeleteYeah I am in a childrens virtual world too and I have found that it is better to act like a young girl and do what they want to do than do your own thing. When interacting with other avatars I ca really tell what age range im working with, all they care about is makeup and fashion shows and all the "girly" things you could image. Also, the sit really doesnt let you act in ways it doesnt approve of, such as things you type people have to be an approved word by the site. For instance I typed "WTF" and it wouldnt let me send the message LOL
